Entries for the Velka Pardubicka closed at midday on May 12th. Forty-eight horses are entered, fewer than usual. All the expected Czech long-distance cross-country horses are there, including 2009 and 2010 winner Tiumen and 2007 and 2008 winner Sixteen. Six horses trained abroad are on the list. Six horses trained abroad are on the list: Freney's Well and Heads on the Ground are both owned by J.P. McManus and trained by Enda Bolger. Another Jewel is trained by Denis Paul Murphy. Let the Show Begin is trained by D.A. Love. Notez Le is trained by Andreas Schaerer. Crystal Park is trained by Patrice Quinton. There are 'only' eight entries trained by Josef Vana this year: Belmont, Caland, Lirain, Lutin des Bordes, Ready for Life, Sherento, Sixteen and Tiumen. Radek Holcak is strongly and numerously represented by Amant Gris, Bremen Plan, Chenonceau, Isar, Karlsbad and Numero Due, while his father Frantisek trains Aspirant and Flambion.
